JAMIE D. BLACK
Jaime D. Black was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania and grew up in Andreas, Pennsylvania. Her primary practice area is Family Law, which consists of Divorce, Custody, Support, Adoption, and Pre-Nuptial/Post-Nuptial Agreements. She also has represented clients in other areas of the law from Bankruptcy to Wills and Estate matters.
Jaime obtained her undergraduate degree at Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. During her time at Moravian, she was a member of the Alpha Kappa Delta Sociology Honor Society, Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society, and, Zeta Tau Alpha Social Fraternity. Through her involvement as fundraising chairperson with ZTA, Jaime regularly organized and participated in fundraisers benefiting the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Jaime attended Widener University School of Law in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. While in law school, she was a member of the Trial Advocacy Honor Society and participated in moot court and trial competitions. During Jaime’s last year in law school, she served as a Certified Legal Intern at the Harrisburg Civil Law Clinic where she represented the interests of income-sensitive individuals in the areas of divorce and landlord/tenant matters. During her last year of law school, Jaime became employed with a small firm in Harrisburg and began representing clients with family law issues. This job was the catalyst for Jaime’s desire to continue representing and assisting individuals through the emotional process of custody and marital disputes. She is collaboratively trained and can help clients make the decision to deal with their legal issues either using traditional litigation or whether a meditative approach is more appropriate.
Jaime regularly donates her time to represent individuals who cannot afford legal representation by participating in the Dauphin County Pro Bono Program. She serves as a volunteer for Dauphin County’s Guardianship Monitoring Program, whose purpose is to ensure that the Court has a set of eyes and ears on those individuals serving as guardians of an incapacitated person. She is also court-appointed counsel for parental termination and guardianship matters in Dauphin County. Jaime is an adjunct professor at the McCann School of Business and Technology in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
Jaime is admitted to practice in all Pennsylvania State Courts. She is a member of the Pennsylvania State, and Cumberland, Dauphin, and York County Bar Associations.
Jaime lives in Susquehanna Township with her husband, Seth, and daughter, Emma.
